applications from young and unmarried personnel for admission to Graduate
Marine Engineers Course at SCI Maritime Training Institute. SCI manages a large

vessels on behalf of various government departments and organizations. GME course is approved by Directorate General of Shipping. It is a ten months course. After the course, examination will be conducted. They will give training on their own ships. After training, candidates will be employed for 5 years on bond. The candidate for GME course should be a Mechanical Engineer. The candidate’s age limit should not exceed 28 years. There are total 40 seats for GME course. Age Criteria for GME Course of SCI:
The candidates applying for GME
Course should not exceed the age of 28 years. He must be unmarried. The candidates
belonging to categories of SC/ST will have an age relaxation of 5 years. Age relaxation
of 2 years is provided for women candidates.
Educational Qualification for SCI Notification for Graduate Marine Engineers:
The candidate applying should be a
Graduate in Mechanical Engineering under B.Tech/B.E. final year students are
also advised to apply for GME course. Candidates must have certificates of
their Graduation and mark sheet with an aggregate of 50% marks and 50% in
English Language in X Standard.
SCI GME Course Fee Details:
The GME Course fee is Rs. 4,50,000
for both male and female candidates. The interested and eligible candidates can
pay the fee at Maritime Training Institute. The fee paid cannot be refunded at
any stage. The students will get a stipend of Rs. 15,000 on Structured
Shipboard Training. No stipend will be allotted during shore based training.
Selection Criteria for SCI GME Course:
The applied candidates have to
appear for the online examination conducted by the SCI. After online examination,
candidates will be called for personal interview. The candidates will be called
in the ratio of 1:3 i.e., 3 candidates for 1 vacancy.
Application fee for SCI GME Admission:
The candidates can apply for SCI
GME course by paying an application fee of Rs. 1000 for General candidates and
Rs. 500 for SC/ST candidates. The fee can be paid through NEFT. The information
regarding payment through NEFT is given clearly in the official notification.
Exam Pattern for SCI GME Course Admission:
The online examination will be for
2 hours. It is a multiple choice questions examination. The subjects covered
will be Quantitative Aptitude, English Skills, and Professional Knowledge and
Reasoning. The interview details will be given in the SCI’s website
